Galileo/Empower has applied for a wind farm on Kerloch (Glenskinnan Renewable Energy Park).
Proposal for 14 turbines up to 220m high - tallest in UK.
Huge access roads, large solar array & battery storage facility.
Too big. Too Intrusive. Too close to protected areas. Too disruptive to community infrastructure.
Scotland's grid is already green. Windpower far exceeds demand and export capacity, and is growing much faster leading to skyrocketing curtailment payments and ever-increasing electricity bills.
Construction jobs will be temporary. Only 5 Full time equivalent jobs will be created. Galileo/Empower are offering a community fund of £5000 per installed MW (the minimum recommended by the Scottish Government). A community poll revealed that people would overwhelmingly prefer to preserve their environment rather than host this infrastructure.

At the appropriate time, send an objection to the Aberdeenshire Council and to the Scottish Government. This is likely to be in December, after Gallileo/Empower has submitted their planning application. Check Save Kerloch and this website for key updates. We will have links to make objecting easy.
